Summary

Growing inequality is hitting childrens around the world in many areas of life. We often hear about increasing wealth on the top 1%, but they giving less atention to the increase of the 10% between the medium and low level of inequality stands out.
UNICEF presents reports cards called “Fairness for Children” where they give details about 41 wealthy countries, the result is that rich countries are failling of 10% children.
Childrens from homes with the lowest household incomes have poor outcomes in education. These inequalities affect children’s life chances and their ability to succeed in life.

Personal Comment

My goals, challenges and expectations for Language IV!

It’s finally my fourth semester! I can see the finish line so close. Now is the moment that I start to get nervous, the practice is getting closer and so many new subjects!

I started bad this semester because I have a little accident in my house and I broke one finger of my foot and in consequence I need to stay in my bed for one week to get rest and have my finger normal again :(.

Last semester was very difficult, I mean, we had to get used to online classes, fortunately I didn’t do any exam of any subject so I felt very happy with that. It’s the first time that I don’t need to take an exam. I feel very proud of me.

This semester is a new challenge for me, we still in quarantine so that means that it’s a new online semester, which is very sad, I really miss my friends, the university, my teachers and my normal life. It’s very difficult to get used to this “new reality”.

I’m feeling very happy about this new semester because on my winter break I had the opportunity to think about my career and I realize that this is something that I’ve always wanted, being a teacher for me is a dream come true, I really want to be a person who influences people.

On my winter break I also tried to improve my English, I watched a lot of series like “Euphoria” and “Peaky Blinders”, obviously I watched in English with subtitles in English.

If we talk about the classes, there are a lot of new subjects, like “British Culture” or “English Methodologies” and “Linguistics” which is the one that I most scared of. But I know I can make it, I’m going to do my best effort to pass all my subjects and keep shining like I’m doing!.
